About PACS

Koh Phangan's
stray animal hospital.

PACS is a non-profit veterinary hospital on Koh Phangan, Thailand. We provide free medical care, vaccinations, and sterilisation to sick and injured stray animals. We've been open every working day since September 2001 — and we run on donations alone.

Our mission

Four goals. Every day. Since 2001.

PACS exists to reduce animal suffering on Koh Phangan through a four-part commitment: vaccinate, neuter, heal, and educate. Everything we do flows from these four goals.

Vaccinate

Rabies, distemper, parvo, and adenovirus — all free for stray and community animals. Rabies has been absent from Koh Phangan since PACS opened.

7,437 rabies vaccines given to date

Neuter

Humane population control through sterilisation. Around 30 procedures a month, keeping numbers manageable without the cruelty of culling.

5,802 animals neutered to date

Heal

Free hospital treatment for sick and injured stray animals: wounds, road traffic accidents, skin conditions, infections, broken bones, and more.

22,451 examinations since 2001

PACS is a hospital, not a shelter.

Only sick or injured stray animals are admitted. Healthy puppies, kittens, and adult animals cannot be dropped off — we have no boarding capacity, and over-handling stresses the in-patients in recovery. If you've found an animal that needs help, use the guide below first.
